Yes,
Elvis, we do
Elvis i cant stop Loving you
Its an all too familiar cry
Made by Fans the whole worldwide
Why did you have to die?
Its not so Funny when time slips away
By all that's right and true
Futures come and Years have Passed
But Elvis we still Love You
Will they Remember Me?, you asked your nurse
you did not have to wonder
for i will answer in this Verse
YES for Eternity and Yonder
Our Love Letters to you, written in rhyme
Are Steadfast Loyal and True
they Echo everyone of us
and that's the Wonder Of You
E stands for Eternity our Love Will go on
L stands for Loyalty so true and so strong
V stands for Voice so Wonderful and Pure
I stands for Idolise of that you can be sure
S stands for Steadfast the way you carried on
They all stand for ELVIS
The master of a song
Though i never met you
And that's a crying shame
The World since you left it
it
Just don't feel the same
Your Smile so Sweet, your Soul so Gifted
When we hear you today, our Hearts are Lifted
Good night Sweet Prince, and Rest in Peace
Know our Love for you will never Cease
For now this Poem will come to a Close
Our thoughts and Feelings put down in Prose
Altogether our Memories will Keep you in touch
Thank you Elvis, Thank you very Much.

The King of Rock-n-Roll

Aptheosis of the Cat
In the Beginning was the Word
And the Word was Elvis
Born in a shorn off shotgun shack
And raised on a diet of grits and greens
He was suckled sour on The American dream
This hillbilly cat from Beale Street
Hair long grackle black and oil slicked back
Mortuary slab Sideburns Snake hipped
Pelvis whirling buccaneer
Curling his enamelled sneerGyrating whirligig Acne strewn Adonis
With Kentucky caterwaul reverberates
To the rustling of a million petticoats
From the first fumble of the butterfly
To the unbridling tempestErotic sideshow messiah
He will sway and strut
Gyrate and tantalize
The adolescent swoon
Like milk lipped lambs who gambol to the chop
How are the mighty fallen (1)
And sprawled across this toilet floor
Beneath the crumpled shroud of dawn
Dethroned Defrocked Deceased
Somehow immortal.
(1) "How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!"
(2) Samuel 1:19-27 RSV

Two Broken Hearts Reunited In Heaven
IT WAS THE SIXTEENTH OF AUGUST NINETEEN SEVENTY SEVEN
THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL WAS CALLED UP TO HEAVEN
I WAS DOING THE WASHING UP WHEN MY DAD CALLED OUT AND SAID
HEY OUR GIN ELVIS PRESLEY IS DEAD
I FELT SO SICK AND A FEELING OF EMPTYNESS INSIDE
HOW COULD THIS LIVING LEGEND JUST SUDDENLY DIE
LIKE ANY OTHER ELVIS FAN I JUST BROKE DOWN AND CRIED
I WENT TO BED WITH MY RADIO ON
AND BETWEEN THE TALKING THEY WERE PLAYING HIS SONGS
THOSE WORDS WERE GOING OVER IN MY HEAD
EVERY TIME THE ANNOUNCER SAID
ELVIS PRESLEY THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL IS DEAD
THEY SAID IT WAS A MASSIVE HEART ATTACK
BUT WAS IT REALLY A BROKEN HEART?
AS ON THE FOURTEENTH OF AUGUST NINETEEN FIFTY EIGHT
HIS MOTHER DIED OF HEART FAILURE,
WAS HE THINKING OF THIS DATE?
ELVIS WAS PERSUADED TWO DAYS LATER TO LEAVE HER SIDE
NINETEEN YEARS EXACTLY BETWEEN HER FUNERAL AND THE DAY THAT ELVIS PRESLEY DIED.
TWO BROKEN HEARTS REUNITED IN HEAVEN.
'ELVIS PRESLEY WAS UNIQUE THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY OTHER SINGER WHO COULD SING SUCH A VARIETY OF SONGS AND PUT SO MUCH MEANING INTO THEM HE WAS A VERY TALENTED MAN,
TO ME HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN AS THE KING
HIS MUSIC WILL KEEP HIM ALIVE FOREVER'.
FROM ONE OF YOUR GREATEST FANS
